Road Safety Rules

Traffic safety is very important for everyone. Every year, many people die in traffic accidents. However, we can prevent these accidents if we follow traffic rules carefully.

First, you should always wear a helmet when riding a motorbike or bicycle. Although helmets may be uncomfortable, they can save your life. It is about 80% effective in preventing serious head injuries.

Second, you should obey traffic lights. When the light is red, you must stop. When it's green, you can go. You shouldn't cross the street when the light is red. It's very dangerous.

Third, you should fasten your seatbelt when traveling by car. The seatbelt can protect you in an accident. Although some people think seatbelts are not necessary for short trips, they should always wear them.

How far is it from your house to school? If it's not far, you should walk or ride a bicycle. Walking and cycling are good for your health and the environment. However, if the distance is far, you should take the bus. Public transport is safer than motorbikes.

Remember: road safety is everyone's responsibility. You should always be careful when you are on the road.

4 4. Skills - Reading Passage 2: Films and Festivals

Entertainment in Our Lives

Films and festivals are important parts of our culture and entertainment. They bring people together and make life more enjoyable.

Many people love watching films. Although films are just stories on screen, they can make us laugh, cry, or feel excited. There are many types of films. Action films are exciting. Comedies are funny. Horror films are scary. However, not everyone likes the same type of film. Some people prefer romantic films, while others enjoy science fiction.

What is your favourite film? When did you watch it? Where did you see it - at the cinema or at home? Critics often write reviews about films. Although critics may not like a film, audiences might love it. The most important thing is that you enjoy it.

Festivals are also very popular. Do you celebrate any festivals? In Vietnam, we celebrate many festivals. Tet is the most important festival. It's in January or February. During Tet, families gather together. People decorate their houses, wear new clothes, and eat special food. Although Tet only lasts a few days, people prepare for it for weeks.

There are also many festivals around the world. Christmas is celebrated in December. Halloween is in October. These festivals have different traditions. However, they all bring joy and happiness to people.
