Sounds /ʃ/ and /ʒ/

1. Sound /ʃ/ (âm vô thanh):

• Phát âm: Môi tròn, lưỡi gần vòm miệng, không rung thanh quản
• Examples:

• exhibition /ˌeksɪˈbɪʃn/
• show /ʃəʊ/
• she /ʃiː/

2. Sound /ʒ/ (âm hữu thanh):

• Phát âm: Môi tròn, lưỡi gần vòm miệng, rung thanh quản
• Examples:

A. Comparisons: like, different from, (not) as...as

1. Like (giống như):

• Cấu trúc: S + V + like + N/pronoun
• Ex: Pop music is like rock music.
• Ex: She sings like a professional.

2. Different from (khác với):

• Cấu trúc: S + be + different from + N/pronoun
• Ex: Classical music is different from pop music.
• Ex: My painting is different from yours.

3. (not) as...as (bằng/không bằng):

• Cấu trúc: S + V + (not) as + adj/adv + as + N/pronoun
• Khẳng định: bằng nhau
• Ex: This song is as good as that one.
• Ex: She sings as well as a professional.
• Phủ định: không bằng
• Ex: Pop music is not as popular as rock music.
• Ex: He doesn't play as well as she does.

4. So sánh:

• the same as: giống như (hoàn toàn giống)
• Ex: My guitar is the same as yours.
• similar to: tương tự như
• Ex: This painting is similar to that one.

B. Too and Either

1. Too (cũng - câu khẳng định):

• Cấu trúc: S + V + too
• Ex: I like music. She likes music, too.
• Ex: He can play the guitar, and I can, too.

2. Either (cũng - câu phủ định):

• Cấu trúc: S + V + not...either
• Ex: I don't like jazz. She doesn't like jazz, either.
• Ex: He can't sing, and I can't, either.
