Suggest / Advise / Recommend + V-ing hoặc mệnh đề với Should

A. Suggest / Advise / Recommend + V-ing:

  • Cấu trúc: S + suggest/advise/recommend + V-ing
  • Ex: I suggest buying a new phone.
  • Ex: She advises studying hard.
  • Ex: They recommend visiting the museum.

B. Suggest / Advise / Recommend + (that) + S + should + V:

  • Cấu trúc: S + suggest/advise/recommend + (that) + S + should + V
  • Ex: I suggest (that) you should buy a new phone.
  • Ex: She advises (that) we should study hard.
  • Ex: They recommend (that) he should visit the museum.

C. Suggest / Advise / Recommend + (that) + S + V (subjunctive):

  • Cấu trúc: S + suggest/advise/recommend + (that) + S + V (nguyên mẫu không 'to')
  • Ex: I suggest (that) you buy a new phone. (không có 'should')
  • Ex: She advises (that) we study hard.
  • Ex: They recommend (that) he visit the museum.
  • Lưu ý: Cấu trúc này formal hơn, ít dùng trong giao tiếp hàng ngày

D. So sánh Suggest vs Advise vs Recommend:

  • Suggest: đề xuất, gợi ý (không mạnh)
  • Ex: I suggest going to the cinema.
  • Advise: khuyên, khuyên nhủ (mạnh hơn suggest)
  • Ex: The doctor advises taking medicine.
  • Recommend: giới thiệu, khuyến nghị (chuyên nghiệp)
  • Ex: I recommend buying this laptop.

E. Các cấu trúc KHÔNG đúng:

  • Sai: I suggest to buy a new phone. ✗
  • Đúng: I suggest buying a new phone. ✓
  • Sai: I suggest you buy a new phone. ✗ (thiếu 'should' hoặc 'that')
  • Đúng: I suggest (that) you should buy a new phone. ✓
  • Đúng: I suggest buying a new phone. ✓

F. Ví dụ chi tiết:

  • I suggest buying a new smartphone.
  • I suggest (that) you should buy a new smartphone.
  • She advises updating the software.
  • She advises (that) we should update the software.
  • They recommend charging the battery.
